Born in Wiesenfeld, Germany, Ulrich Tendera began his incrediblecareer with W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik at the age of 17 when he began an apprenticeship as a Ceramic Painter. He worked in various departments where he learned the skill and expertise involved in the decoration of M.I. Hummel® figurines.

After successfully mastering the exceptional skill of a painter, Tendera remained in this department until 1979. Tendera rejoined the company in 1981 where he began training in the whiteware quality control area, where he earned the position of head of quality control for the whiteware department.

In the 25 years he has been with Goebel, Tendera has held various positions leading up to his current post as the most senior individual in the production department - a responsibility well earned!

Tendera has been traveling for Goebel and participating in painting promotions in Europe, the Far East and the United States, throughout his career. His knowledge, enthusiasm and love of M.I. Hummel figurines make him a sought after guest at local retailers in the U.S. and Canada as well as on broadcast television! We are thrilled to have him with us at The Artisan!
